Where is BIOTA?
We are located in the heart of the San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado. Our water comes from snow and rain filtered through 13,000-foot peaks, emerging 9010 feet above sea level. We believe this spring, now in commercial use, is one of the highest and purest alpine springs in the world.
Our Corporate office is located on Main Street in Telluride, Colorado. Telluride is the home to many wonderful festivals including MountainFilm, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Telluride Jazz Celebration, Telluride Film Festival, Telluride Blues & Brews Festival and many more.
Recreational activities abound in the area year-round. In winter we have some of the best downhill and cross-country ski terrain in the world. Spring and fall foster a deep appreciation for nature as we watch the seasons change their colors. Summer, though brief, is filled with hiking, biking, sightseeing, music, mushroom foraging and wildflowers. The view on the front of the bottle is a Telluride landmark, 14,017 foot Wilson Peak.
Where is BIOTA bottled?
Our state of the art bottling facility is located at the edge of Ouray, Colorado. The water flows directly to the facility where it is bottled in our unique, compostable plastic bottles, packaged and made ready to ship.
Ouray is known as the "Switzerland of America" with steep peaks protecting the town below. State Highway 550 makes it way through Ouray and over spectacular Red Mountain Pass to reach the high country town of Silverton before winding its way to Durango, Colorado. More hardy souls may take the jeep road over Imogene Pass, which brings you up and over the mountain into Telluride. The peak seen by looking through the bottle is Mt. Abrams. It's the view from our Ouray facility.
We encourage you to visit this area of the country, known for its unsurpassed beauty, and of course, BIOTA. Come, then you too can "Blame It On The Altitude." ™
